Dr. María Lavilla has more than 20 years of experience in research in Microbiology and Food Safety. From 2009, she works as Researcher at AZTI (Spain) in the group of Food Quality, Safety and Identity. Her current research activities are focused on the development of new strategies (bacteriophage-based) for biological control of pathogenic bacteria for food safety and aquaculture. She has been involved in 34 projects financed by public calls, and more than 20 R&D projects with private companies. As a result, although many outcomes cannot be published due to confidentiality, she is inventor in 5 patents, author of more than 45 publications, including peer reviewed papers and book chapters, and contributor to more than 40 congresses communications.
