Mara Calleja Gómez

Mara Calleja Gómez, is a PhD student in Food Science at the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Food Science, Toxicology and Legal Medicine of the University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain.
Currently, her research activity is framed in the extraction of bioactive compounds and the study of their biological activities from food matrices and by-products, being part of the research group in Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Food (ALISOST) with Dr. Francisco José Barba and Dra. Houda Berrada. In addition, the cytotoxic, antimicrobial and antiparasitic potential of different compounds of high food value is studied by using innovative sustainable technologies such as pulsed electric fields (PEF), supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and accelerated solvent extraction (ASE)
